Volleyball Recap: West Seattle vs. Eastside Catholic Crusaders
West Seattle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Eastside Catholic Crusaders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to West Seattle of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.
West Seattle wouldn't go down easily and took Eastside Catholic into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking seven-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-23, 23-25, 14-25, 15-8.
Velvet Jia was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 24 digs and one assist. Those 24 digs gave her a new career-high. Queen Tone was another key player, getting seven digs and two aces.
West Seattle's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Eastside Catholic, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-3.
