Volleyball Recap: Bemidji Lumberjacks vs. Duluth East Greyhounds
Bemidji was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They came up short against the Duluth East Greyhounds, falling 3-0. The Lumberjacks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Greyhounds apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.
Bemidji couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Duluth East a tough time in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-22, 30-28.
Duluth East can attribute much of their success to Evelyn Viney, who had ten digs and three assists. Viney has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times she's played.
Bemidji's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Duluth East, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Bemidji will head out to take on Virginia at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Duluth East, they will venture away from home to square off against Superior at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
