Basketball Recap: South Gate Comes Up Short

South Gate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss. They fell 62-53 to the South East Jaguars. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1237th, while the Jaguars are ranked 533rd).

South Gate's defeat dropped their record down to 1-20. As for South East, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-4.

Looking ahead, South Gate will square off against Roosevelt at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for South East, they and George Washington Prep will face off at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. George Washington Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matchups -- so hopefully South East likes a good challenge.
