Baseball Recap: Douglass Find Success

Douglass's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with a 16-11 victory over the Forest Park Foresters. The win continues a trend for the Mighty Ducks in their matchups with the Foresters: they've now won six in a row.

Wilmer Rivero made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits (and only one walk). Rivero was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with five stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Douglass got a massive performance out of Kevin Roche-Ramos, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, four stolen bases, and four runs. Those four hits gave Roche-Ramos a new career-high. Luis Gonzales was another key player, going 2-for-3 with six stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Douglass' victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Forest Park, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Douglass will take on Poly at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Engineers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Mighty Ducks' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Forest Park, they will challenge Dunbar at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
