Baseball Recap: Eau Gallie Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

After losing to Satellite the last time they met, Eau Gallie decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Eau Gallie came out on top in a nail-biter against Satellite on Tuesday, sneaking past 4-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Commodores.

Carson Lietz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Eau Gallie let Alex Jacobs and Brock Lustic run wild. Jacobs went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Lustic went 1-for-2 with one home run. Chase McBrearty was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Eau Gallie lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in February.

Eau Gallie pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Satellite, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-5.

Coming up, Eau Gallie will face off against Palm Bay at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Eau Gallie's pitchers better be ready for this one: Palm Bay has averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
