Basketball Game Preview: KIPP Legacy Lions vs. Indianapolis Lutheran Saints

The KIPP Legacy Lions will be taking part in a tournament against the Indianapolis Lutheran Saints at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. KIPP Legacy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

If KIPP Legacy beats Indianapolis Lutheran with 34 points on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. KIPP Legacy put the hurt on Christel House with a sharp 34-14 win on Thursday. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season.

KIPP Legacy can attribute much of their success to Nadiya Abdullah, who posted 14 points, and Alicia Crawford, who earned 12 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Abdullah has scored at least a third of KIPP Legacy's points.

Meanwhile, Indianapolis Lutheran came up short against Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter on Saturday and fell 48-38.

KIPP Legacy will have to contain Caitlyn Rose as she made an impact in Indianapolis Lutheran's last game. She dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 boards. That's the most points Rose has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Amelia Hughes, who had two points in addition to eight steals and seven assists.

KIPP Legacy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 16.3 points per game. As for Indianapolis Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
