Football Recap: Augusta Prep Day Cavaliers vs. Briarwood Academy Buccaneers
Augusta Prep Day was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 39-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Briarwood Academy Buccaneers. The Cavaliers lost against the Buccaneers in their previous head to head back in October of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 41-6 score last time.
Briarwood Academy found their leader in sophomore Cutler Fleming, who threw for 250 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt. Those 250 passing yards set a new season-high mark for Fleming.
Augusta Prep Day's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Briarwood Academy, their record now sits at 8-1.
