Palisades took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Clover, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pumas sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Blue Eagles on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pumas.

Palisades now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Clover, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Palisades and Clover could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in their respective state rankings. The Pumas will square off against Ardrey Kell at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (217 vs. 101). Meanwhile, Clover (ranked 64th) will meet Cardinal Newman (ranked sixth) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
