Softball Preview: Sandy Valley Sidewinders vs. Round Mountain Knights

Sandy Valley has enjoyed a six-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Round Mountain Knights at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.

Sandy Valley's hitters might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Indian Springs on Tuesday. They suffered a tough 20-0 defeat at the hands of the Thunderbirds.

Meanwhile, Round Mountain waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Thunderbirds as they made off with a 17-2 win. The result was nothing new for Round Mountain, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Ava Faga made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Faga was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Round Mountain got a massive performance out of Phoenix Jacobs, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and a triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Hallee Larsen, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, a triple, and a stolen base.
