St. Dominic has gone a perfect 5-0 against Mount View recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Saints will square off against the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. St. Dominic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.3 runs per game this season.

St. Dominic is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maine's top teams: Monmouth Academy, who was ranked ninth at the time (St. Dominic was ranked 25th). The Saints fell 10-7 to the Mustangs on Monday. The Saints have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Emily Andrews was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Another player making a difference was Piper Croteau, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Mount View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Mountain Valley, falling 12-2.

Emily Richards made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and one run. Bailey Cartier also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Mount View's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for St. Dominic, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 3-3.

Mount View's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: St. Dominic hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .351. It's a different story for Mount View, though, as they've only averaged .195. Will they be able to contain St. Dominic's hitters?

Everything went St. Dominic's way against Mount View in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as St. Dominic made off with a 12-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Saints since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
