Softball Recap: Merrill Comes Up Short

Merrill fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Gladwin on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Flying G's by a score of 13-11.

Merrill's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Gladwin, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Merrill will head out to face off against Carman-Ainsworth at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Vandals are facing the Cavaliers at the right time seeing as the Cavaliers are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Gladwin, they will challenge Standish-Sterling at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
