Recap: Chandler Wolves vs. North Mustangs

The Chandler Wolves's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 58-46 victory over North. That's another feather in the cap for Chandler, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Chandler's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Markayla Shirley, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Shirley has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Karis Hurd, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.

Xxylina Flores and Saniyah Downing certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Flores scored 21 points along with six steals, while Downing scored 15 points along with seven steals. Flores hasn't dropped below two steals for 12 straight games.

North struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Chandler's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-8. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for North, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chandler will take on Hamilton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hamilton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for North, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Maryvale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Maryvale will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while North is ranked 118th).
