Basketball Game Preview: Civic Memorial Eagles vs. Mascoutah Indians

Civic Memorial hasn't had much luck against Mascoutah recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Civic Memorial Eagles will challenge the Mascoutah Indians at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Civic Memorial easily dispatched Hillsboro on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Civic Memorial fell just short of Triad by a score of 66-64 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Mascoutah strolled past Murphysboro with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 57-43.

Civic Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Mascoutah, their win bumped their record up to 11-8.

Civic Memorial took a serious blow against Mascoutah in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 65-35. Can Civic Memorial avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
