Baseball Game Preview: Silver Fighting Colts vs. Miyamura Patriots

The Silver Fighting Colts will be taking part in a tournament against the Miyamura Patriots at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Miyamura took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Silver, who comes in off a win.

Silver is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Mescalero Apache a 22-0 shutout on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Fighting Colts considering their two-run performance the game before.

Silver's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Alex Reyes, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Gable Stern also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Miyamura was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 13-4 to Piedra Vista, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Xavier Brown made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Nikki Torres, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Miyamura's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Silver, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
