Softball Recap: Dover-Eyota Takes a Loss

Dover-Eyota was the 8-1 winner over La Crescent when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles fell just short of the Lancers by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Aubrey Foster spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Dover-Eyota saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyllee Howlett, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Dover-Eyota's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for La Crescent, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Dover-Eyota has already played their next game, a 4-2 win against St. Charles on the 24th. As for La Crescent, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-0 victory against Fillmore Central/Lanesboro on the 25th.
