Softball Recap: La Salle's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

La Salle had to endure a six-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over the Flintridge Prep Wolves on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Lancers considering their one-run performance the game before.

Olivia Ferrari made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Aria Davis and Layla Loya did most of the damage at the plate: Davis went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Loya scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Alyssa Lewis was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base.

The win got La Salle back to even at 1-1. As for Flintridge Prep, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, La Salle will be taking part in a tournament against Sacred Heart of Jesus at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Flintridge Prep, they will be playing at home against Mountain View at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
