Recap: TERRA Environmental vs. Northwestern Bulls

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact TERRA Environmental can now relate to. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 44-22 walloping at the hands of the Bulls on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, TERRA Environmental can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 414th, while Northwestern is ranked 147th).

When it comes to explaining why TERRA Environmental lost, one person who can't be blamed is Shannon Greene. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, TERRA Environmental struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Northwestern pulled down 12 offensive rebounds.

Northwestern's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Janyiah Mickens led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Mickens is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jermiah Eleby, who scored ten points along with six assists and five rebounds.

TERRA Environmental has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. As for Northwestern, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a massive bump to their 14-6 record this season.

TERRA Environmental does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northwestern, they will take on Homestead at TBD on Friday. Homestead is coming into the matchup with six straight wins on the road, meaning Northwestern will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
