Cambria-Friesland is 8-2 against Markesan since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Hilltoppers will look to defend their home field against the Hornets at 5:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Cambria-Friesland took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Pardeeville an 8-0 shutout. The Hilltoppers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by eight runs or more this season.

Not much got past Enya Heller, who gave up just a hit and racked up 16 Ks to keep Pardeeville off the board. Heller has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Janell Villarreal, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Rayna Helmer was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Markesan got the win against Randolph on Monday by a conclusive 12-6.
Ali Kirker was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaelyn Walker, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Markesan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .344 or higher in five consecutive contests.
Cambria-Friesland pushed their record up to 13-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Markesan, their win bumped their record up to 5-10-2.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cambria-Friesland hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. However, it's not like Markesan struggles in that department as they've averaged .356. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Cambria-Friesland's way against Markesan when the teams last played back in April, as Cambria-Friesland made off with an 8-0 victory. Will the Hilltoppers repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
