Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Dover

Dover had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 23-16 win over the Pond Creek-Hunter Panthers. The 23-point effort marked the Longhorns' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Dover's victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Pond Creek-Hunter, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 11-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dover will square off against Okeene at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dover's defense has only allowed 26.2 points per game this season, so Okeene's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Pond Creek-Hunter, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Garber at 7:30 p.m.
