Recap: Heritage Eagles vs. Eaglecrest Raptors
The Heritage Eagles lost against the Eaglecrest Raptors back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The game between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Heritage falling 68-52. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while Eaglecrest is ranked 29th).
Jonah Mayoral and Atticus Schroeder certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Mayoral scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds, while Schroeder scored 13 points.
Ladavian King was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 24 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points. Sir Devin Roberts was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Heritage now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Eaglecrest, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Heritage will head out on the road to face off against Boulder at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Boulder knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Heritage likes a good challenge. As for Eaglecrest, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Rampart at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Rampart focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Wednesday.
