Volleyball Game Preview: Frontier Regional Red Hawks vs. Pioneer Valley Christian Eagles

After both having extra time off, the Frontier Regional Red Hawks and the Pioneer Valley Christian Eagles will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Frontier Regional not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 22nd (when they won 3-0). They blew past Granby 3-0. The Red Hawks haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

While Frontier Regional won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-23, 25-19.

Frontier Regional's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Ethan Rivera, who had nine digs, and Evan Maio, who had seven digs and two assists.

Meanwhile, Pioneer Valley Christian waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bears.

Pioneer Valley Christian never let Athol on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-19, 25-23.

Frontier Regional's record is now 7-12. As for Pioneer Valley Christian, their record now sits at 7-2.

Frontier Regional came up short against Pioneer Valley Christian in their previous meeting on Tuesday, falling 3-1. Can the Red Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
