Soccer Game Preview: Bearden vs. Hardin Valley Academy

For the first time this season, Bearden will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to face off against the Hardin Valley Academy Hawks at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bearden will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

While Bearden's win against Gatlinburg-Pittman wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Bearden's defense stepped up to hand Gatlinburg-Pittman a 1-0 shutout on Tuesday. Given Bearden's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked second, while Gatlinburg-Pittman are ranked 30th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, neither Hardin Valley Academy nor Ravenwood could gain the upper hand on Sunday so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Bearden's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. Hardin Valley Academy's draw makes their record 4-1-2 this season.
