Baseball Recap: Rosemead Starts off Right with Win over Rio Hondo Prep

Rosemead gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged the Rio Hondo Prep Kares out 4-3. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 13-2 victory the Kares walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Carlos Villalobos, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Mojica, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Rosemead will have a chance to go back-to-back against Rio Hondo Prep: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
