Volleyball Recap: Richmond Takes a Loss

Richmond was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Holden Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-22, 25-23, 25-14.

Avory Oliphant paced Richmond's offense, picking up nine kills. Oliphant got some help from Haylee Marrant and her 18 assists. Finally, Oliphant was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Richmond's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Holden, their win ended a five-match drought at home and bumped them up to 4-14-1.

Richmond wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Cameron on the 6th. As for Holden, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Carrollton on the 7th.
