Basketball Recap: Premont Comes Up Short

Premont managed to keep up with Kaufer until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Premont Cowboys were beaten by the Kaufer Seahawks 73-43. The Cowboys have struggled against the Seahawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Kaufer's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Daren Davila led the charge by dropping a double-double on 22 points and 14 boards. Davila is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last three games he's played. Matthew Mascorro was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Premont's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Kaufer, they pushed their record up to 6-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Premont will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Freer at 5:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025. As for Kaufer, they will welcome La Villa at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
