Baseball Recap: Sheridan Hills Christian Sharks vs. Glades Central Raiders

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hialeah-Miami Lakes, Sheridan Hills Christian was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Glades Central Raiders with a sharp 18-12 win. Both teams can probably skip cardio this week after making that many trips around the bases.

Sheridan Hills Christian let Ryan Whitis and Brandon Kaya loose on the outfield. Whitis went 3-for-6 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Kaya scored a run and stole four bases while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Giovanni McCoon, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Sheridan Hills Christian's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-7. As for Glades Central, they dropped their record down to 3-10 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Sheridan Hills Christian will head out on the road to challenge Highlands Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Glades Central, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Clewiston at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
