Baseball Recap: Caverna Takes a Loss

Metcalfe County hit Caverna with a five-run first inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Colonels came up short against the Hornets, falling 12-2. The loss continues a trend for the Colonels in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost seven in a row.

Caverna saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Clayton Norris, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Caverna's defeat dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Metcalfe County, they moved to 8-14 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

While Caverna had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
