Basketball Recap: Karleigh Young's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Christian Heritage Academy over Roanoke Valley Christian

Christian Heritage Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. The game between them and the Roanoke Valley Christian EAGLES didn't end well, with the Christian Heritage Academy Knights falling 38-20. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-11 back in December of 2024.

Christian Heritage Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Karleigh Young, who posted nine points. Another player making a difference was Piper Turner, who had four points and three steals.

Roanoke Valley Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lily Boyd led the charge by putting up 12 points. Eva Boyd was another key player, posting 11 points.

Christian Heritage Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Roanoke Valley Christian, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-6 record.

Christian Heritage Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-20 defeat against Faith Christian on the 21st. Roanoke Valley Christian has also already played their next match (against Dayspring Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
