Baseball Game Preview: Elkhart Elks vs. Fairfield Eagles

Elkhart hasn't had much luck against Fairfield recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Elks will take on the Eagles at 5:00 p.m.

On Monday, Elkhart came up short against Teague and fell 8-3.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fairfield). They put the hurt on Mexia with a sharp 19-2 win on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Black Cats: they've now won four in a row.

Elkhart's defeat dropped their record down to 16-8-1. As for Fairfield, their win bumped their record up to 13-8-1.

Elkhart came out on top in a nail-biter against Fairfield when the teams last played two weeks ago, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Elks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
