The Skyview Wolverines will take on the Aurora Central Trojans at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Skyview will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Skyview is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 19-7 margin over Thornton on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won six matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Isaiah Rodriguez made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. He has become a key player for Skyview: the team is 5-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-7 otherwise. Rodriguez was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Andrew Casillas and Joseph Trujillo did most of the damage at the plate: Casillas went a perfect 5-for-5 with five runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Trujillo went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those five hits gave Casillas a new career-high. Juan Esquivel was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Skyview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Aurora Central couldn't beat Adams City on Tuesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the first inning. The Trojans fell 11-7 to the Eagles. Trojans fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Eagles since on Tuesday.
Anderson Rodriguez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jorge De Los Santos, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Skyview pushed their record up to 8-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Aurora Central, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Skyview has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Aurora Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
