Basketball Recap: Florida Christian Now 9-3 over Last 12 Games

Florida Christian won the last time they faced Archbishop Carroll and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Florida Christian Patriots came out on top against the Archbishop Carroll Bulldogs by a score of 58-46. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 170th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 414th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Archbishop Carroll's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Alejandro Alvarez, who made all 5 shots he took racking up 13 points, and Sebastian Ramirez Benavidez, who posted 11 points. The dominant performance also gave Alvarez a new career-high in steals (two). Another player making a difference was Marcus Gillete, who had six points and five boards.

Florida Christian is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Archbishop Carroll, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.

Florida Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 63-51 victory against TERRA Environmental on the 30th. Archbishop Carroll has also already played their next game, a 60-41 win against Braddock on the 31st.
