Softball Preview: Central Catholic Rams vs. Barlow Bruins
For the first time this season, Central Catholic will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to face off against the Barlow Bruins at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Things were looking good for Central Catholic after they put the first runs on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sunset. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Portland Razo was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances. Emery Pike also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Barlow's offense. They came up short against Sherwood on Tuesday, falling 7-0.
Kaylee Pokorny 2025 was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
