Basketball Recap: Kelso's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

The third road matchup was the charm for Kelso, as they earned their first road win of the season. Everything went their way against the Battle Ground Tigers on Thursday as the Kelso Hilanders made off with a 56-30 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hilanders also won the last time the pair played back in January.

Despite the loss, Battle Ground saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Charlie Jones posted 14 points and eight boards. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for Jones. Another player making a difference was Charlotte Clarke, who had six points in addition to ten rebounds and four steals.

Kelso's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3. As for Battle Ground, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Kelso wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 81-55 defeat against Adna on the 27th. As for Battle Ground, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-25 loss against Roosevelt on the 23rd.
