Recap: Animo Leadership Aztec Eagles vs. Port of Los Angeles Polar Bears
On Wednesday, Animo Leadership took a serious blow against Port of Los Angeles, falling 69-30. Animo Leadership was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-14.
Port of Los Angeles' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gared Almazan led the charge by scoring 21 points along with 7 assists and 4 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Almazan has scored at least 25% of Port of Los Angeles' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Smith, who scored 15 points along with 8 assists and 7 rebounds.
Animo Leadership now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Port of Los Angeles, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Animo Leadership is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Hawthorne at 5:30 p.m. on December 12th. As for Port of Los Angeles, they will challenge Hawkins at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Hawkins is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
