Basketball Recap: Stevens Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Stevens challenged Newport on Monday. The Stevens Cardinals took a 47-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Newport Tigers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-28 back in December of 2024.

Stevens' defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Newport, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.

While Stevens had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
