Basketball Recap: Sterling Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

After losing to Waltrip the last time they met, Sterling decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Sterling Raiders came out on top against the Waltrip Rams by a score of 76-66 on Monday.

Sterling's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but J'Dyen Canady led the charge by going 9 for 16 on his way to 22 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Braydon Hughes, who went 9 of 11 en route to 23 points.

Sterling has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.2 points per game. As for Waltrip, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-11.

Sterling has already played their next game (against Sharpstown), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Waltrip will host Milby at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday.
