Highland Tech fell to SouthLake Christian Academy 57-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Leading 1A Conference 3 in both passing and receiving yards, Thomas Jefferson Academy's Mason Martin and Efrim Borders have proven to be a lethal combination. Martin has thrown for 651 yards this season, while Borders, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 18 catches for 309 yards. Bessemer City's Cedric Mackey leads the league in rushing yards with 561.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Highland Tech takes on the Gryphons. Jerry Jordan's team is currently in sixth, while Thomas Jefferson Academy is in first.
Jerry Cash's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,390 from 9,127. The improvement was the result of a 35-13 victory over Rabun Gap-Nacoochee last week.
