Softball Recap: Ashe County Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

While Ashe County's win against Surry Central wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Huskies narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Golden Eagles 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Huskies have posted since March 19th.

Ashe County's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Addi Williams, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Williams wasn't the only one making solid contact: Ashe County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Surry Central only managed six hits.

Ashe County's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-6. As for Surry Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ashe County will take on Hibriten at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Huskies have won four straight at home, while the Panthers won six straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Surry Central, they will challenge North Surry at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles are facing the Greyhounds at the right time seeing as the Greyhounds are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
