Given Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 59th, while Heritage is ranked 367th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Wyatt Chanda, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Chanda scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Martay Barnes, who scored 16 points along with five assists and three steals.
Heritage lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Malik Warren, who scored ten points along with two steals. Etienne Aime was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with three steals.
Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy's victory bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Heritage, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-16.
Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy will face off against Melbourne Central Catholic at TBD on Thursday. Hopefully Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday. As for Heritage, they will head out on the road to face off against Melbourne at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Melbourne is on a three-game streak of home losses, Heritage a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
