Basketball Recap: Herron Takes a Loss

Herron extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 15 on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-13. They were beaten by the Southwestern Spartans 43-8. The Achaeans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 26-2.

As for Southwestern, the win snapped their losing streak at nine games and leaves them with a 3-16 record. The matchup marked their most dominant victory of the season.

Southwestern was led to victory by Bryla Dunbar and Claire Utley. Dunbar went 5-for-11 en route to 10 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks, while Utley posted eight points and seven steals. Those seven steals gave Utley a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maddie Barlow, who had eight points and three steals.

Coming up, Herron will challenge Christel House at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southwestern, they will take on Edinburgh at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
