Basketball Recap: Mulvane Comes Up Short

Mulvane was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 54-50 heartbreaker at the hands of the Winfield Vikings. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Christian Moree was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 36 points and nine rebounds for Winfield. The game was Moree's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Graham, who posted four points and nine boards.

Mulvane's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Winfield, they moved to 3-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Mulvane didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 76-40 defeat against McPherson on the 10th. As for Winfield, they will face off against Buhler at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
