Basketball Game Preview: Bryan County Redskins vs. Macon County Bulldogs

Two dominant guards in Jasmine Mikell and Morgan Cochran are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Bryan County Redskins will challenge the Macon County Bulldogs on Friday.

Bryan County is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They strolled past Hawkinsville with points to spare, taking the game 46-29. Given the Redskins' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Red Devils are ranked 412th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Macon County came tearing into Tuesday's contest with 12 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.8 points), and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 50-31 win over the Blue Devils.

Bryan County better keep an eye on Cochran. She was instrumental in Macon County's win, dropping a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. With that strong performance, Cochran is now averaging an impressive 2.1 blocks per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Aliyah Lake, who went 5-for-9 on her way to 11 points and six boards.

Macon County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive matches.

Bryan County's victory was their 24th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.2 points over those games. As for Macon County, their win bumped their record up to 20-3.
