Monroe beats West Stanly for their eighth straight win

Recap: Monroe Redhawks vs. West Stanly Colts

The Monroe Redhawks entered their tilt with the West Stanly Colts with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Monroe took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 56-6 victory over West Stanly. Considering Monroe has won eight matchups by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Monroe to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaegan Chambers, who rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns. Chambers was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards. Another player making a difference was Zachariah Melton, who rushed for 37 yards and two touchdowns.

Monroe's victory was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 44.67 points. As for West Stanly, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Monroe will be playing at home against Bandys at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bandys will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Monroe is ranked 18th). As for West Stanly, they will head out on the road to face off against Randleman at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Randleman is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
