Baseball Game Preview: Moriarty Pintos vs. Taos Tigers

Moriarty has gone 8-2 against Taos recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Pintos will take on the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Taos will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Moriarty extended their winning streak to three on Saturday. Everything went the Pintos' way against Pojoaque Valley as they made off with an 18-7 win. That's two games straight that the Pintos have won by exactly 11 runs.

Moriarty got a massive performance out of Cash Klein, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. Klein has become a key player for the Pintos: the team is undefeated when he posts at least one home run, but 4-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Denomme, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Moriarty kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2025.

Meanwhile, Taos was not the first on the board on Saturday, but they got there more often. They put the hurt on Espanola Valley with a sharp 27-9 victory. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Sundevils recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Taos' record is now 5-9. As for Moriarty, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Moriarty was able to grind out a solid win over Taos in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, winning 7-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pintos since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
