Football Recap: Stone Memorial Starts Season with Victory Against Rhea County

Stone Memorial had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Rhea County Golden Eagles 55-0 on Friday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stone Memorial to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mia Jones, who picked up 68 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Lily Hinch made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Stone Memorial didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Vadyn Bosanko led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself. Hinch got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Stone Memorial didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 42-0 victory against Bledsoe County on the 7th. As for Rhea County, they are taking a road trip to challenge Stone Memorial at 7:45 p.m. on March 14th.
