Softball Game Preview: Flora Wolves vs. Edwards County Lions

For the second straight game, Flora will face off against Edwards County. The Wolves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Flora was handed a eight-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Edwards County, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wolves have posted against the Lions since March 29, 2017.

For Edwards County's part, Allison Groff spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks.

On the hitting side, Grace Bishop made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Flora's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-9. As for Edwards County, they moved to 16-3 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
