Basketball Game Preview: Peninsula Panthers vs. Mira Costa Mustangs

Peninsula is 0-10 against Mira Costa since January of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Peninsula Panthers will face off against the Mira Costa Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Peninsula is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 71-28 loss at the hands of Redondo Union. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 643rd, while the Sea Hawks are ranked third).

Meanwhile, Mira Costa came up short against De La Salle on Saturday and fell 50-42. The game marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Peninsula's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Mira Costa, their loss dropped their record down to 21-3.

Peninsula was dealt a bruising 68-22 defeat at the hands of Mira Costa when the teams last played on January 10th. Can Peninsula avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
