Basketball Recap: Bryce Johnson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Manzano over Eldorado

Manzano was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. The contest between them and the Eldorado Golden Eagles didn't end well, with the Manzano Monarchs falling 62-47. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-48 back in January.

Several Monarchs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bryce Johnson, who posted 17 points. Kai Youngberg was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Manzano's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Eldorado, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Manzano will head out to face off against Santa Fe at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Santa Fe's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches. As for Eldorado, they are taking a road trip to take on La Cueva at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. La Cueva is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.5 points per game this season.
