Basketball Recap: Foothill Comes Up Short

Foothill's tournament run continued when they took on Riverdale on Saturday. The Foothill Trojans fell just short of the Riverdale Cowboys by a score of 59-57.

Despite the loss, Foothill still got an impressive performance from Fernando Sarabia, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 13 boards. Sarabia's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Derrick Sanchez, who posted five points along with nine rebounds and seven assists.

Foothill's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Riverdale, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4.

Foothill will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Chavez at 1:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Riverdale will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Caruthers at 7:00 p.m. on January 14, 2025.
