Basketball Recap: Foundation Christian Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lakeside Christian on Monday, Foundation Christian Academy came back down to earth. The Foundation Christian Academy Panthers fell 64-54 to the Bishop McLaughlin Catholic Hurricanes on Tuesday. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 65-44 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Foundation Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Caleb Hagan, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 boards. Hagan's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Correy Stevenson, who posted seven points.

It was another big night for Jacob Mekdeci, who went 8 of 12 en route to 21 points and six assists for Bishop McLaughlin Catholic. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Grove, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.

Foundation Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Bishop McLaughlin Catholic, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foundation Christian Academy will welcome Gulf Coast HEAT at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gulf Coast HEAT knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 matches -- so hopefully Foundation Christian Academy likes a good challenge. As for Bishop McLaughlin Catholic, they will host Angeline Academy of Innovation at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop McLaughlin Catholic is facing Angeline Academy of Innovation at the right time seeing as Angeline Academy of Innovation is stuck on a 15-game losing streak.
